De Staat has been around since 2007, but only really broke through in 2015 with their viral video clip for ‘Witch Doctor’. The video is going viral all over the internet and is being copied enthusiastically at every festival where the band plays. But that video is of course just one small thing on the resume of this band from Nijmegen. The debut album Wait For Evolution (2008) is completely recorded in the house of Torre Florim. The singer, musician and producer has been working on material since he was fourteen and takes over a year to record everything. He is helped by musician friends such as Fuck the Writer and The Bloody Honkies. The album is created layer by layer and, in their own words, sounds ‘un-Dutch’.This album is a re-issue on Orange vinyl
